RUO Reviews is operated by Proofmark Media, LLC ("we"). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
What RUO Reviews is, and isn't
- An independent directory of reviews of research supply vendors, written by buyers whose orders were confirmed.
- Products discussed here are sold for research use only and are not for human or animal consumption.
- Nothing on this site is medical, legal or purchasing advice. Reviews are the opinions of the people who wrote them.
- We don't sell products, and we aren't responsible for any vendor, order or product.
Accounts
You sign in with a link sent to your email. Keep your email account secure, since anyone who can read it can sign in as you. You must be 18 or older. One person, one account.
Writing reviews
- Only review orders you actually placed. Each order can be reviewed once.
- Follow the review guidelines. Reviews are screened before they go live, and we may edit wording to remove personal-use, dosing or health claims and personal information. We never change your star rating or your opinion of the vendor, and you see any edits before publishing.
- Don't post reviews you were paid or rewarded for, reviews of a vendor you work for or are connected to, or anything false, threatening or unlawful.
- You keep ownership of your review. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, display and distribute it on RUO Reviews and in vendor widgets, for as long as it's published. You can delete it at any time.
Vendors
- Vendors can reply publicly to reviews and flag reviews they believe are fake. They can't edit, hide, reorder or delete reviews, and paying never changes a vendor's score, ranking or which reviews appear.
- Vendors must send every order for review invitations, not a selection, and must only send orders they have the right to share with us. Our data processing terms cover customer data vendors send us.
- Paid plans are billed as invoiced. A vendor who stops paying stays listed with its published reviews.
- New subscriptions have a 30-day money-back guarantee: ask within 30 days of your first payment and we refund that payment in full. Reviews already published stay up.
Our content and software
The site, its design and text, our software, the widgets, the RUO Score and how it's calculated, our compliance screening, and the collection of vendor profiles, scores and reviews are owned by Proofmark Media, LLC and protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Reviews belong to the people who wrote them and are published under the license above.
- Don't scrape, crawl or bulk-download reviews, vendor profiles, scores or other data, or use automated tools to collect them. Search engines indexing public pages are fine.
- Don't copy, republish or resell our content, or use it to build or train a competing directory, dataset or service.
- Don't copy, decompile or reverse engineer our software, widgets or screening, or try to get around how they work. Our WooCommerce plugin is licensed under the GPL and its own license applies to it.
- Use our API and widgets only as documented. Vendors may embed our widgets on their own sites while subscribed, without changing, restyling or rebranding them.
- Don't use the RUO Reviews name or logo, or our scores, in a way that suggests we endorse you, outside the widgets we provide.
We may block access and take legal action against anyone who breaks these rules.
Removing content and accounts
We may remove reviews or replies that break these terms or the guidelines, and we publish the reason category. We may suspend accounts or vendors involved in fake reviews or abuse, and may place a public warning on a vendor's profile for confirmed review manipulation.
Reporting
Anyone can report a review from its page. If you believe content infringes your rights, contact us at [email protected] with the page address and the details.
Disclaimers and liability
The site is provided "as is." We work to keep reviews genuine but can't guarantee that every review is accurate or complete. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made based on reviews, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (zero for buyers and reviewers).
Changes and law
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we'll post it here before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA.
